Strength in equality

Building inclusivity through equity and diversity

We believe in co-creating a training, curriculum and culture in which everyone feels empowered to bring their fullness and authenticity to share.

We believe our training school and the community around it can be places that recognise inequality and privilege and can be a force towards inclusivity and positive social change.

We welcome ideas and reflections on practices and behaviours that make the school ever more inclusive.

We recognise that the form and style of training in the school won’t be the right fit for everyone, and at the same time we are always learning how to grow and widen our invitation.

We are aware that people come into this space carrying very different lived experiences — including those shaped by racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, class inequality, and neurodivergence. We are committed to meeting these realities with care, humility, and a willingness to keep learning.

We explicitly include and welcome people of all backgrounds and identities — including people of colour, LGBTQIA+ people, trans and gender fluid people, disabled and neurodivergent people, those from working-class or less visible cultural backgrounds, and others whose lives and identities may not always have been recognised, valued and made welcome.

The school is rooted in an animist perspective. We welcome people of all faiths, beliefs, and none, who feel a resonance with this way of relating to the world.

We celebrate multiplicity in approach and point of view with regard our work with herbs and healing. Furthermore we believe that this wide spectrum of approaches deepens, challenges and grows the culture of herbalism.

We invite everyone joining the trainings at the school to have a read through theses pages, and, if there’s anything you’d like to talk through with us let us know and we’re really happy to make a time to hear and learn about your experience and challenges living in this human world.
